Our story
We were our first customers.
Our story began in a small London flat that needed some serious TLC. I’m Dominic, the founder, and my goal was to fix up the sash windows. I hired Mike, a local tradesman, to help, but being the hands-on type, I couldn’t resist getting involved. I started out just watching, but before long, I was right there beside Mike, learning the ropes.
What started as a simple home project quickly turned into a weekend apprenticeship and then a part-time job to fund my renovation. I dived in headfirst, buying tools and picking up skills as fast as I could. Those early days were a mix of hard work and a lot of fun.
As I got better, I realised I had a real knack for this and decided to go out on my own. In 2008, despite the tough economic times, I launched Acorn Sash Windows. I took a chance, put out our first flyers, and within hours, we had our first jobs.
Since then, we’ve grown by refining our craft, building local partnerships, hiring a great team, and establishing our premises. Today, our company is built on strong values, a clear mission, and the skilled people who make it all happen. We’re committed to delivering quality craftsmanship and excellent service, staying true to the passion that got us started.

World Land Trust is an international conservation charity that protects the world’s most biologically significant and threatened habitats by funding the creation of reserves.
Habitat loss is the greatest threat facing wildlife worldwide. Along with World Land Trust, we believe that by protecting land, acre by acre, we are taking the best action to help ensure a future for wildlife.
As well as recycling, using green utilities, and using only FSC-certified timber, we donate £1,000 per year to the World Land Trust Buy an Acre programme. We’re super-proud to have donated £13,000 to purchase 130 acres of habitat and protect it in perpetuity for wildlife.
